Don’t worry, this only takes a fraction of a second and we never look at, or collect any of your personal information.

The Browser Highlighter is a downloadable application. As some point, you clicked through an installer where you were asked if you wanted to add this application to your browser. This installer could have been launched from an ad on the eBay site, the FireFox Add-on Gallery or from the www.browserhighlighter.com site.

Customizing the Browser Highlighter is easy. You can change settings for an individual tool by following these steps:

1. Click on the Browser Highlighter icon in your browser.
2. Click the preferences tab.
3. Click the tab of the plug-in you want to customize in the Browser Highlighter window that appears.
4. Adjust the settings to your preferences.

The Browser Highlighter was designed to let you pick and choose the various tools that you think are useful. If you want to turn an individual plug-in in on/off, all you have to do is:

1. Click the Browser Highlighter logo in your browser menu.
2. Scroll over and click the plug-in you want to toggle on/off.
3. Reload/refresh your browser.

If there is a check mark by the name of one of the plug-ins, that means the tool is on. If there is no check mark by the name of a plug-in the tool is off.

If you’d only like to remove the Firefox version of the Browser Highlighter, follow these instructions.

1. Click the tools menu in your FireFox browser.
2. Select the Add-ons menu.
3. Click the Extensions tab in the FireFox window that pops up.
4. Click on the Browser Highlighter logo in the list of extensions.
5. Click the uninstall option.
6. Click Uninstall in the prompt.
7. Click the restart FireFox button at the top of the Extensions menu.

If you’d only like to remove the Internet Explorer version of the Browser Highlighter, follow these instructions:

1. Click the start menu.
2. Click Control Panel.
3. Click Add/Remove programs.
4. Select the Browser Highlighter.
5. Click the uninstall button and follow prompts.

The Compare on eBay button is a tool that helps you make more informed decisions when you buy stuff online. The button gives you the ability see live eBay listings on the product pages of some other sites where you shop. No more jumping back and forth trying to find the best deal.

When the Browser Highlighter recognizes that you are looking for a product, it will place a small button on the page. If you click the button, a window will open that shows the top related eBay listings. If the top listings are close, but not exactly what you are looking for you can either click the "Find more on eBay" link or close the "Compare on eBay" window and type in a more specific term into the search box. For the record, we only place the “Compare on eBay” buttons where they won’t cover any important information on the page you want to view. If we don’t have what you are looking for, just click the “close” button at the top of the window and continue doing what you were doing.
